GRE - Graduate Record Examination

 Graduates who want to pursue a Master's or Ph.D. programme in American universities are often required to pass the GRE, conducted by the Educational Testing Service, Princeton, New Jersey.

Sponsors of Fellowships use this examination as one of the criteria to select the recipients of their awards.
More frequently, the scores obtained by the applicants, together with their undergraduate records and recommendations, determine admission to Graduate Schools abroad.

Tests offered by the GRE Programme:

  1. The General Test which measures verbal, quantitative and analytical reasoning skills.
  2. Writing Assessment which consists of two analytical writing tasks - one requires the student to construct his/her own argument about an issue while the other requires him/her to critique someone else's argument.
  3. Subject Tests that measure achievement in a particular subject area.
